I had 302 2bbl w/auto and ran against a friend’s 67 Camaro with 327 4bbl w/4spd….He thought he would take me easy and almost lost. I actually set mine up for corner-carving with the Shelby mod up front and big stabilizer bars front and rear…My School-mates couldn’t believe I could cut thru corners so fast. Miss that little car.

It only had a 200. I rebuilt it and it was indestructible. Even with no oil or water, for hours it would not quit. I moved on, been through 4 Mavericks. One I put a 1967 289 in a 2 barrel motor I added a 4 barrel intake. I beat the hell out of it for 5 years and sold it to my uncle. He had it for 4 years until he crashed it.289 another very indestructible Ford engine . With the 6 cylinder gears and a 4 speed trans I bet it would go close to 150 MPH.I drag raced a friend ,he said when I put it in 4th gear his Pontiac Ventura was done at about 125. It had a 305 with 3 2 barrels. I left him like he put on the brakes. we were street racing so no times or speed. I now have a 2000 Hayabusa, I like to go very fast.
